only one i can find is Mary King's Riding Star & Equestriad Double Pack and the manufacturers site specifically states its not compatable with xp (wtf ? wot about compatability mode ?) : http://www.focusmm.co.uk/store/produ...fo/ess421.html
anyone run this game on xp or know of another/better horse riding game (for a 4 year old who's daft about horses) ?

no, but I have ran software that wasn't compatible and even in compatibility mode still wouldn't work.
My little sister had some Sindy software that was all about horses. Should be ideal for a 4yr old.
