Hmmm, ok, Cromwell bios I assume. Is it the v2.2 ?

Have you got the correct bios bank selected ?
Have you tried flashing some X2 bios to bank 2 ?
Have you tried a different region DVD ? (Should play if working)

Got the Matrix chip myself, but its pretty similar to install by the looks. Is there an LED that confims that the pogo pins are touching all of the points on the board (like on mine)?

Hopefully someone will come along soon who has one

Wouldn't necessarily cause errors. Mine wasn't quite right at first and just booted as normal, a little fiddle () and it worked fine. With the X2 bios on the chip it says X-Ecutor instead of Microshaft on the boot screen. Not sure about the Cromwell (Linux) bios Is you little external switch selecting Bank 1 for the bios ?

Cool. Just checking May be worth first removing and reinstalling the chip to confirm its installed correctly

Only other thing I can suggest it trying a Region 1 DVD or a DVD-R disc to see if they boot

It was the furthest pin, the one seperate from the block of pins that cause me problems.

Hobo - Mail me and I'll send you Final Burn AlphaX. There is a brand new CVS build of XBMP out today, but I can mail you the previous version, not got around to getting the new one yet

Glad you got it sorted, thought it'd just be a case of a little tweaking

Yup recording live TV. Not tried it myself but have read a little about it. You'll find more info on the second link I just posted.

Don't forget the CD-R's will NOT play on the X-Box. You need to use either CD-RW's or DVD's. Either that or run the files from the hard disk with a nice little icon picture for each film Or even stream them from your PC, via your network

When getting XBMP ensure that you are using at least 2.3 and that the version you have includes the codecs. I don't think the CVS versions do.

I'm using a prog called Relax to share out my MP3's on my PC and have setup an XNS connection from X-Box Media Player and as if by magic.....over 1000 albums available

Just tried streaming DIVX movies over my wireless network and its perfect, takes approx 10 secs for the film to start but after that it plays straight through with no flicker.

It's proper Bo I tell thee!!!!
