PC Pro had an article on them and which was the best to buy.
Best allround performance/value was a sharp LL-T17D3B at £292 + Vat from www.bechtle.co.uk
The best one was a LG Flatron L1800PK for £398 + Vat from www.simply.co.uk
Hope this helps,
Chris

Can recommended the one from Staples at £199 in stores.
Although if you can find a Staples with some left then your doing well cos this offer has been well hammered. The usual price is over £250.
I bought one, well pleased with it. I dont get any ghosting, it seems good at everything I've thrown at it so far. Didn't notice a difference playing Vice City .
Its a 'GNR' brand. Model F173 I think.
Heard they also had an 18" GNR for £50 more but the refresh rate is much slower than the 17" apparently. Depends if you play many games or not I suppose.
I also believe they had a Cybercom for around £250 but again dont know if they have any left.

a) Ignore all magazine articles and there prices
b) Find some good internet sites such as www.overclockers.co.uk, www.komplett.co.uk, www.dabs.co.uk
c) Find some reviews such as Tom's Hardware or ReviewNation or HardOCP.
d) Find the best prices from those sites on the monitor you fancy most.
Basically, the reviews say of the two panels available there is not much in it. Overclockers has excellent panels in for about 300 quid.
e) Dont buy crap - most of what is mentioned above is crap, its got poor reviews and magazines are WOEFUL at reviewing top end computer products. They simply dont know where to start.

MicroWarehouse has some very good 17" Relisys screen in that lots of the big newspapers have been buying.
Got some very good feedback on them too. They were under £240 but the price was due to go up.
if you need help email ben.markwick@eu.mwhse.com who works there and mention Scoobynet.

Scathing is the word on those comments. You have to laugh.
Baldynapper - All I can tell you is I and 2 of my colleagues think the GNR is good value for £199 (3 yr warranty inc.). I only have to stare at the things all day writing code (and surfing the web of course) what do we know about IT hardware .
I bought it on a recommendation and am happy with it, so am passing that on. If you want it for home use i.e surfing the web, etc. then I think you'll agree £200 would be a bargain. But if your doing some top notch graphics work or loads of FPS gaming you probably wouldn't be asking the question cos you'd know what you want, done your research on Toms and the like and know a £200 TFT wont cut it.
Ah well good luck...

PC Pro also advised that in 6 months time some major factories in the Far East will be ramping up production big-time of TFT screens, so.......if you can wait a little you will be getting a bargain.
