Bin them
Do not, under any circumstances, reply or click on an un-subscribe link in the message, as all this does is confirm to the sender that they have reached a live email address - result 100 times the amount heading your way.

I do not understand, especially as I have not been online on 31/08/03 until 15:45 and these are from my webbased hotmail account not an outlook account.
I have had 20 of these in last 2 days, mostly in relation to webmaster@scoobynet.co.uk
I think that someone has grabbed email addresses from scoobynet and is using them as a spoof reply address to spam emails. I have never sent emails to anybody at scoobynet so it has not got them from my address book, and my hotmail address is not the one on my scoobynet profile, so I am baffled.
Hope someone can assist, I know scoobynet had some outage on 30/08/03, the day I started with this problems.
Regards,
Richard

That is my email address! I think what happened was that there was a subscriber to Scoobynet who got infected with the 'msblast' virus that has been doing the rounds over the last couple of weeks.
Once the virus is on your machine it takes entries from Outlook and other sources and replicates the virus to every email address it can find. What it also does is spoof the sender email to hide where it is coming from (hence why my name appears as the sender, which I most certainly was not).
Simon (webmaster) has traced and spoken to likely source, so I hope it won't happen again. However, this is one of the most agressive viruses around and I'm still receiving upwards of 10 to 20 emails a day from various sources.

True Ian - although the point I'm making is that this is NOT coming from my machine and I don't want people making that association.
