Graphics adapter size (and related Q's)

The setting you're referring to is AGP Aperture.
In simple terms, it's an amount of system memory to act as an overflow memory space for your graphics card.
As for the setting, it's a very contentious issue and people argue for all sorts, but in reality it's whatever works for you.
You have to consider what physical memory you have in your system before setting it though. If you only have 256MB Ram (in your PC) setting 128MB AGP aperture wouldn't be a good idea.
Depending on what you got, I'd try 64MB and 128MB.
If you don't do too much graphically with your machine, chances are you'll notice no difference whatsoever.
If you're a gamer, 128MB may be better especially if you play new games that are ever more hungry for graphics memory.
If you want to know more, have a read through this thread on Rage3D.com
The AGPx4 is the data rate from the motherboard to the graphics card. Which card do you have ? Might be helpful info
It may be you have a Motherboard capable of AGPx8 but a graphics card only capable of AGPx4.
Again, theres a lot of debate around whether x8 is worth having.
Personally, I do, but I have run at x4 and didn't notice a difference.

have a setting in BIOS for "Enter to select the size of mapped memory for graphics data"
what should this be set to?
choices are
32
64
128
256
512
I have a 128Mb graphics card but it also has 256k bit rate??
also something to note is this little exerpt from the settings tab in 3D03
Why is it only utilising 4 of the available 8 pipelines ??
I have enabled 8x support within BIOS.
Cheers
