I have an account with BT OPENWORLD and wish to use my free webspace however I cannot make head nor tail of the instructions
FTP and the likes
Just want to be able to stick pics to my own web space.
I have recently got a copy of FRONT PAGE (which I cant get to grips with either
)
HTF do I get to use this space ??
and an online FRONTPAGE tutor would be helpful too

the absolute easist way is to open internet explorer and in address bar type ftp://account login in name:account password@the place files get uploaded to so mine for example is
ftp://mr.cookie:yeahright@upload.ntlworld.com
yours is like this
ftp://username
assword@ftp.btinternet.com
then drag and drop file you want copied to it, your website address will either be http://www.btinternet.com/~username or
http://www.username.btinternet.co.uk or http://username.users.btopenworld.com then /name of file uploaded including tag i.e .jpg .mpg etc etc

how do I edit my site that I didnt know I had ??
I want to start again.
I even see there is a forum set up on frontpage....would like to tackle that but I think that may be pushing it
I hate it when people say " Ah, frontpage. Really easy / great to use/ ect
makes me feel all the more stupid

front page is poo - puts loads of code that you don't need in [img]images/smilies/mad.gif[/img]
Either do it all in notepad or download some freeware like 1st page 2000 - beware, this comes with a free trojan 
but works fine once your anti-virus has stripped the offending file out

Only way your going to get something like www.paulsplace.com is if you buy the url then get it directed to your bthomepage with your homepage masked should be about £20.
