Help with Wireless

Hello
I'm trying to play with consume.net type stuff, but my wireless PCMCIA card has a rubbish range (I think!).
Has anyone got any websites that can show me how to modify my card to have an external aerial? It doesn't have a plug-in aerial socket, so it would have to be a DIY install.
