Does anyone know if there is a way of creating a report of files that are held in folder on your harddrive,
I have a rather large music collection on a spare harddrive which are filed by artist and album and i would like to create a report in excel or the like,
Advice Please, there must be a way of doing this.
Thanks
Phil G

hmm had to think of a way to do something like this at work the other day.
open a command promt and do a dir /? to see what switches youd need to use
then do a dir *. "whatever switches you want" > C:/list.txt
Thatll get everythign from a dir into a text file wherever you want it, just change the last bit to what you want.
Dunno if this will help tho.

Just tried this with sucess
c:>tree/F >filename.doc
the F switch needs to be capital F and it outputs to a file called filename.doc (feel free to change filename and/or extension) to your C drive
