After using one of those online scan tools, I have found myself a virus, and so feel it is now time to invest in some AV software. Does anyone have any recomendations? It is only for my home machine so a cheap one would be good, but don't want it to kill the performance of my machine either.

cheers for all the suggestions.

Sorry jack, but I have gone for AVG, will see what it's like, and perhaps move to a paying one later.

Grisoft at home.

Network Associates at work. Netshield, Groupshield for Exchange and Virus Scan for desktops.
