Can't answer your question directly but I have a comment and a question of my own. I bought myself a Road Angel a couple of weeks ago and I'm well impressed...it rules as far as I'm concerned. It can also be teamed up with a laser diffuser - there is a company up near Manchester that market the kit for around £350 and you just plug the lead from the diffuser into the slot in the back of Road Angel that would otherwise be used for the Laser detector that comes with Road Angel. With that set up you're cooking on gas.
My question is have you had the road Angel Laser warning go off yet and if so what exactly happens as I have yet to have the pleasure.

To connect the Road Angel to the Ipaq you need a y splitter cable (Usb & serial one end and the compaq connector the other) available on eBay. Then connect the serial port to the back of the road angel via a null modem adaptor (try Maplins).
The usb connector then plugs into a cig adaptor to power the Ipaq (Available again on eBay). Then you will need a good in car mounting bracket try www.brodit.com.
Hope this helps.
Mark.
(Let me know how it goes, I'm about to try this out myself, just got my ipaq and lead just need the software now!)

Hi , Right got the y cable from ebay last week , so I guess all I need is the null modem adaptor so I can connect it from the cable to the road angel . I have tomtom software so I will give it a go this week and let you know if it works, what type of Ipaq do you have? I read on another board someone who had a 3600 and just got a null modem cable and it worked fine. I have the 3850 so its only usb out which is a shame.

If you've got TomTom working with GPS, add in Checkpoint (costs nowt)
http://checkpoint.oabsoftware.nl/
and the speedcamera db from here http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/uksafetycameras.asp
and you have speedcamera warnings without Road angel
