OK, So this is how I understand it at the moment.....

I can access the USENET newsgroups via my ISP and outlook but I amtrying to find a way to download stuff.....

I NEED HELP!!!! ANYONE PLEASE!!!!

What do you want to download? Small things will apear as an attachment, larger things are a bit more tricky.

They are showing as text 200-300kb in size (and the txt is like looking at a compiled program)

news groups can only hold certain size files so big files get split into smaller one then need to be rejoined using same app some are rar's renamed to .txt depends on who did them

The best advice I can give you is to use Xnews, it rocks for this type of thing. Just do a google search for it.

Top tip - get something called Free Agent Newsreader. As it's name suggests it's free but there is a version of Agent that you can pay for which obviously has more bells & whistles. I used Free Agent for years then upgraded.

Yep - Free Agent makes reading usenet much easier than using something like outlook express

The file is most likely split over several messages ie: 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3. Select them all using the Ctrl key - sorting by subject may help - then right click and choose combine and decode.
