I want to install Redhat 9 on my system, but am experiencing problems.

My CDROM is SCSI (on an Advansys SCSI card) and I need to be able to boot off the CD to install the OS.

My other option would be to create a boot diskette, however the one I have won't load the SCSI drivers.

Can anyone help me, please?

Don't you have an option in your PC BIOS to boot off your SCSI cdrom ?

is there a way of going into the "bios" or settings for the scsi cards, bit like hitting Ctrl+A on adaptec ones..could be a "boot scsi id #" value..

Not all SCSI cards have onboard BIOS to allow booting from SCSI devices.

If your card allows you to go in to a BIOS screen there should be a setting to allow you to boot from removable media like tape or cdrom.

What model scsi card is it?

Quickest solution is to boot from floppy with a kernel that supports your scsi card.

There's no BIOS screen, to my knowledge. Its a cheap £30 Advansys SCSI PCI card.

Can't you use the bootdisk.img - primary boot image for all install methods and then the secondary driver drvblock.img (Supplemental Block Device Drivers)disk
