if you can compile it yourself, squid *can* run on windows.

Had a quick look, but can't be doing with it really

Don't need the caching side of things either so it's overkill

If you don't want caching, then why not use Internet Connection Sharing.

Why do you want to use a proxy if you don't want caching? Do you want to control user access or log what sites have been accessed?

I use Squid at work at it's a piece of pi$$ to setup. I would've rather used a Windows version just for sheer ease of management, backup, etc., but I've yet to find a decent one that's completely *FREE*. Plenty of shareware ones out there.

Try Proxy+, it's free to use for up to 3 users and is configured using a browser interface. I've had great success using it to connect my Linux iPaq to the net over a serial ppp connection.
