have asdl line and i was wondering can i still fax and recieve them as i dont have a number for the second line

Yes you can. There is no "second line", your telephone number remains the same as it was before ADSL was installed, but the line is split into two channels/frequencies, the higher one is used by ADSL whilst normal phone calls use the lower frequency. If you attempt to use a normal modem on the telephone line, you may find it connects at a lower speed than it used to. This is normal behaviour.
