can my pc send a fax?

i was thinking of getting a new printer/fax thing but just thought- can my pc send faxes if i get a scanner. i think i used to do this with win fax?? ages ago. i'm now on broadband so does that stop it working???

Depends on wether your modem is still connected (right mouse button my computer, choose properties, click device manager tag (make sure check is on view devices by type scan down list for modem).
If it is your okay if not no because broadband isn't a dial up service so you cant dial other numbers
