why does my pc take very long to start.......
i switch it on tha main scren comes on and then it stays there for about 5 minutes and it doesnt allow me to click anything.......and it always makes that grgrgrgrgrgrgrgr noise.....
WHYYYYYYYY????????

Sometimes if you're very low on disk space startup can be slow.

If the noise you refer to is not a familiar noise then it may be the hard drive on the way out.

my old computer alweays did the same! try upgrading your RAM and run a defrag on your system did the trick for me but if its a dodgy sound like the other bloke said the hdd could be on its way out

i'm running 2000. It took an age to login. I then downloaded a copy of adaware. It removed stacks of spyware, that was evidently causing some probs. It now fine...try

actually, if it making a noise, it could also be that the disk is badly fragmented. May be worth running a defrag...good luck!!!
