Outlook keeps hanging when downloading mail??

Any one any ideas as to what can cause this, i have done a restore to yesterdays settings in XP but it hasn't made any difference !

Help.....

Are you sure it's not trying to download a huge email?

Yep , it on broadband so should be ok have had no prbs like this b4! It just freezes and then woun't let me click anything else in Outlook , and i have to end the programe b4 i can do anything again ?
Has woeked fine for the last 2 months and has only started like this at lunchtime today !

Do you have webmail access to the mailbox you are trying to download from?

Even broadband can struggle on silly sized e-mail attachments

delete email profile and re-create, and/or run scantpst to fix problems with the sync file.

If its NTL Broadband, it can hang sometimes if theres some really nasty spam in your inbox.

If its Outlook 2002, delete and re-create the profile (DON'T delete the PST). Its amazing the amount of "email" problems are fixed by doing this

Sounds very likely to me that you have got a mail on your server which is not wanting to download, login via webmail and check the mailbox that way inisitally.
