I do quite a bit and have done over the past few years.

Most of my stuff are web based applications. I.e. ISAPI builds a form, user fills it in, the ISAPI processes the input and then returns another page/graph/PDF document etc. etc.

Also recently been doing some work using ISAPIs for SOAP/XML work. More complicated, but still easy to do.

All my work has been with Delphi though, so I can help if you are using Delphi but may struggle if you are using anything else.

Cheers

Ian

Loads of info on the 'net (search terms "delphi ISAPI example") but a tutorial I give to anyone who asks can be seen here.

With regards to using APIs, yes, you can do just about anything in a Delphi ISAPI that you can do in a normal Windows application, i.e. you can use databases as normal, you can use many of the normal components etc.

Let me know if you need anymore info.

Cheers

LOL, just don't tell my boss. I always try to make out that writing ISAPIs etc. is rocket science. This way I get more time to do them/tweak them/skive off

Seriously, Delphi is very good at doing this kind of work, Delphi 6 and 7 make it easier still with most stuff already done for you/components available.

Cheers

Can't be done in vb. ISAPI is implemented as a plain old vanilla dll, vb can only create dlls for com objects which is no use for ISAPI programming.

i did discover you can use oleisapi2, but that dll isn't present on my xp pro install, so I discounted it.

I need to implement an install free solution. ASP/ActiveX seems the only way to go (unless I go on a C++ refresher!)
