when i update a .swf file on a website and publish it the browser will not show the latest version and will show a earlier cached version, even after ive refreshed the page, and or deleted my temperoray internet files within IE.
is this something to do with my webserver?
also tried the no-cache tag without any luck - <META HTTP-EQUIV="PRAGMA" CONTENT="NO-CACHE">
any clues???

Try Ctrl-F5 which forces a refresh of all objects.
If your ISP uses transparent caching (e.g. freeserve) you may need a few hits of ctrl-F5 to persuade the caches that, yes, you really really wanted a fresh copy of it.
