I came across this today and have ordered it. Bit of a no-brainer IMHO.

In saying that, I predict a heap of posts saying "Pipex=rubbish"

I have recently joined pipex ADSL 512K and it is bloody great! very fast too.

Had prob at first getting connected but the customer service was very good, calling back when they said they would etc.

As soon as a BT engineer came out and found the fault was due to a crap filter thing they installed in our loft several years ago, it nows works fine can't fault it

I understand that you hold a 12 month contract with pipex. What happens if you move properties??

Well the pipex package I signed up lets me cancel any time I like by giving 1 months notice not 12 months contract.

I think this is due to me having the self setup where I use my own router/adsl modem and set it up my self.

If you move then it will depend on the area you move to (if you can get ADSL there) and will prob have to pay again for the connection to be activated with BT. I aint too sure what happens with pipex, there might be a transfer fee??

There is no fixed term contract with Pipex. However if you took advantage of a free offer then you may be asked to contribute if you leave within 12 months.

Moving house - you will have to pay the standard BT connection fee of approx £50. This is a fee charged by BT to connect the wires at the exchange.

£17.99 must be very very close to their cost price from BT.

I'd be very surprised if they could sustain that model for very long. There's cheap and there's too cheap...
