Does any one know what the realistic time for BT to activate your ADSL is. I know they say 7-10 days but I'm getting impatient has anyone had theirs sorted any quicker?
Thanks,
Nick

I have been waiting since 11th Nov
Im doing it through AOL as its a good price and free modem saves me about £80
I have spoken to AOL 5 times and they are chasing up BT
All BT have to do is check my line to see that is possible
How long does it take to check a line
I'm getting pretty naffed off now

I waited for 10 days and nothing, so I called them, and they'd done it 2 days ago but not bothered to call me
My advise - chase BT up yourself. I would expect it to take around 7 days.

my 3rd party modem and microfilters turned up early, so I plugged it all in and the line was active already (5 days early)
if it's a wires only install and you have your modem/filters I can tell you how to set your connection up.

Thanks for your help.
Fosters I'm going to wait until they confirm that the line is fine before I buy the kit. I presume its a faily straight forward procedure to wire up:- Plug microfilters on all telephone connections and then plug the ADSL router in and config the IP address, gateway e.t.c on the router.

If you're planning on using more than one phone point for ADSL, you might be better off getting a new master socket faceplate which splits the ADSL and phone line for you. Think they cost less than 15 quid and it means you can run extensions for ADSL separately to phone extensions without the need for microfilters.
If you're interested, I'll dig out a link to it.

Buy the kit just now??, I ordered the gear and tried it as soon as i got it (8 days before activation)and I got a green light up. The hardest part was trying to convince my ISP that the line was ready.
