How do you take a full colour image and change it to be made up of just variations of blue for example? So the whole image looks 'bluescale'??

Also anyone know of any decent tutorial sites for photoshop 6??

I think you mean a Duotone, like a Sepia Effect but in blue?

Go to image/mode and change it to grayscale - then you can choose duotone - the sample here is black and blue.
