Just had BT on the phone telling me all about broadband(even though I have 512k broadband) and how I could now have 1meg and even 2meg !!!. I expressed an interest in 1meg and was transfered to a stupid bitch who would get a P45 if she worked for me who didn't have an answer for any of my questions apart from how it would cost £119 per month!!!!.How much does 1meg cost on average and does 2megs really exist or make that much difference

The joys of the sales girls !!! but someone has to do it

i have ntl 0.5 meg broadband which is £25 per month.
ntl are offering 1 meg for £35 for 6 months, then rises to £50 per month

AFAIK Telewest are offering 1 meg for £40 per month

2 meg does exist - we have it as work. not sure it is available to the home user though??

personally i find 0.5 meg more than ample for home use

LOL! The funny thing about the NTL '0.6 Mbit/s' is that they said they'd 'upgraded' everyone to 600 kbit/s (from 512 kbit/s) when in reality the '512 kbit/s' service has always been 600 kbit/s.
