Question

We use Maximizer Enterprise 2000 as our contacts manager. I want to use ODBC to connect to the data using Access 2000. Have succesfully created a system dsn and can link to some of the tables. One Maximizer table, Notes, keeps giving the error in Access; ODBC - call failed. Used the same ODBC dsn in excel and connected to this table with no problems. Tried MS knowledge base. No help. Tried Multiactive, no help. Anyone any idea why this table wont connect in Access?

More info...

Just tried opening the Access db on another pc that's got the Maximizer ODBC driver. Differnt linked tables refused to open giving the same error. Very strange...

what db is the maximizer db, a proprietry one? Not a very helpful error message for sure, maybe it's to do with translation of a column type in that particular table. Cant think of anything else

Not always a good idea to use Access to connect to a foreign database via ODBC as you can get unexpected results and problems.

Maybe's you'd be better off finding a proper client instead.
