Question

I'm currently with Tiscali on a "pay as you play" basis and only use my home connection after work or weekends. I wouldn't say I was a frequent user but I reckon I'd be better off with a fixed monthly fee which gives unlimmited access for Off Peak hours.

Anyway, Tiscali have offered me Unlimited Off-peak access for £11.99. Does anyone know how this compares with other companies offers. What's the best deals going at the moment ?

Cheers
Ian

We're with Freeserve, 24/7 access for about £15 a month. I've heard loads of horror stories about Freeserve but have to say they've been fine for us, only thing is you get booted off after two hours but I gather that is comonplace?

i pay 7 quid a month offpeak (6pm to 6am, and all weekend)

http://www.fast24.co.uk/

I used to be with tiscali for 18 months and paid a tenner for offpeak. Was forced to leave tiscali when they became so bad that i could not connect

Fast 24 have had their probs but im stickin with em due to the cheapness and the fact that its fine from my perspective now. Been with em for 6 months now

Matt, £5 a month is ideal for Off Peak use.

Also, I just came across Gioserve.net They offer Unlimited 24 HOUR Access every day for £7.99 per month !!
Anyone use them / know if they're any good ??

Ian

But dont you also subscribe to sommat else aswell, which is £6 amonth, in reality your paying £11 a month.I used to be on the same until i got hacked off at the speed of the connection.I rang them and cancelled the account, they asked why, soi toold them it seemed that the connection must have a throttle on it, its that slow. They said ahh...o.k., no problem sir, we`ll close the account for you.Pretty sure i was right going by that reply.

Question

Just checked BT. Now totally confused !

They want an extra £5 per month to add Surf time to my monthly tel bill and on top of that I'd have to pay another £5 or so per month to an ISP company = >£10 per month. Sounds like a total rip off by BT

As a BT telephone customer, will I have to pay this extra £5 to BT no matter which ISP company I choose ?

All I want is to pay a fixed monthly amount to an ISP which will be my total internet charge. (ie no internet calls appear on my telephone bill for off peak periods used.)

Cheers
Ian

free 24-7 does it for £7.99 for unmetered 24/7[1] access via a 0808 (freefone) number. that's all you pay and another else.

[1] T&C applies like 2 hours cut-off (but you can redial), and i think you are cap x amount of hours per day or something.
