I have a network card in my 2nd-hand pc. I disconnected it through Hardware settings as it was interferring when I was on the net.
Now everytime I boot up my PC tells me it has found a new hardware device and looks for drivers for it etc etc...
How do I stop this without physically removing the card?

Thanks in anticipation.

Nick

Why not just install it but don't have IP running on the card?
That should cure your problem with it on the net.

If you don't need it, then open the case & remove it!

Don't know what OS you are running, but instead of removing the hardware, in software (if that makes sense), just disable the hardware. That way, it knows its there, just doesn't try to use it and that way doesn't keep saying it has found new stuff.

Works for me anyway with a second graphics card I don't use very often but stays physically installed in the machine.

Cheers

Ian
