Mine arrived today and I've just installed it. Excellent graphics bearing in mind my card is 2 years old and only 32Mb.
Very familiar feel to it, though I have not got the steering setup to my liking just yet.
Any other experiences?

I like it. It's much more of an advance than GP3 was.
You do need a monster PC to get have most of the nice grpahics on though
Oh and it based on the 2001 season so no, the tracks are out dated although this time they have been based on GPS data

hmm it is a pc intense piece of software, tho i remember version 2 and 3 being deliberately engineered to need the next gen of pcs to get the best from them. (that was what i was told when i called to complain about how poor performance was).
im running an
amd xp 2000
geforce 3 ti500
half a gig of ram
and on the start line im using 150% of cpu and thats just with automatic graphic settings, which from checking is about 70-80% of features turned on.
During the race going down start finish straights im getting about 120-130% cpu.
still very playable though, and just the odd nano second freeze here and there.

I would have thought that eventually the latest car sets and tracks would be available as they were for GP3 to bring it bang up to date.

Pete,
You should have put the decent patch using GP3 Edit on, 24mb just for the car sets for the 2002 season, looked choice, no glitches or anything.

havent played gp3 for moons!
One amusing thing about waiting for crammonds releases is that by the time they come the tracks have changed massively and several new ones have appeared lol.
p.s. one thing it still does (and has done since the original gp) is if you watch a replay, whatever camera you unpause from when finished watching is where it carries the race on, so beware if your watching from v cam or behind or even other drivers!!!!!
Wish he'd sort that out!

Please tell me you dont mean the EA game?
I have fears over EA games founded over years of playing, looks great, lots of presentation and nice bits but ultimately poor gameplay has been my exp in the past.

Have to say ive just read the review of the ea game and it got 84% in pc zone. It sounds VERY similar to gp, having similar sort of driving aids but being aided by being on 2002 season, might have to give that a spin as well <scuse the pun>

bioforger,
Admittedly no, just going on the past experiences dodgy EA F1 games!
May have to have a peek at the demo now!

Strange, that doesn't happen on mine with GP4, although admittedly it does happen with all the previous releases of GP

Have to say I agree with PTHOLT on the EA games point. In the past they HAVE been drivel for the masses, but I noticed a distinct change with F1 2k2 when I played the demo. It definitely seemed to be a big improvement over their previous stuff.
Might try the full game.
Pete, you're scaring me with those system specs! My humble TBIRD1.4 will fall over and die by the sounds of it!
