Default Xperia Z3 charging question.

My phone has a magnetic charging port on the side, i like the idea as I don't have to open the cover to charge it, the phone being IP65/66 waterproof.

I bought two of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Quality-Ma...DCApr8tTah3BUg

Both worked perfectly at first, but both now connect/disconnect/reconnect almost constantly when used, which effectively DIS-charges the phone

I think the fault is in the cables.

I have bought a better quality branded one to try, and when it arrives will see if the problem persists...in which case the phone goes back to virgin for repair.

Anyone had similar problems at all?

Ordered a better (more expensive) one. We shall see.

Chatted briefly with Sony who offered to have the phone for checking, but I prefer to suspect the lead and let Virgin deal with it if it turns out to be the phone.

I had a problem with mine last year with charging on my z3. But then i bought a gold plated cable for like £10 i think from maplin. And it's the best thing ive ever bought. It's long and the phone charges a lot quicker compared to the original wire

There's no probs on the mini-usb. I just like the idea of NOT having to open the covers on a water-tight phone, to charge it. I'm surprised Sony themselves haven't seen fit to d a proper lead. they do a charging dock, but it's mains only.
