peer 2 peer via internet...

Was just wondering the other day if there's any software to let me stream video from my home PC (footy) which is connected via broadband and watch it on our work's PC ?
I know I can get software to turn my home PC into an FTP server, so is there any software that'll let me do the above ?

Which WinTV card are you using. The site suggest you need a mpeg encoded source - are you getting that from one of the PVR Win TV cards or a straight WinTV card with something else doing the encoding ?
And what OS are you running on ?

I never mentioned a WinTV card.
I'm using a rather posh Mpeg1 encoder card that can live stream. All I need is software that can allow this feed to be access by another PC on the internet.
eg. set up a webpage with a real video stream on it, and let people access it from their own internet connection.

I *know* you didn't - but H did - And I've been looking at doing the same thing.
The S/W H pointed out "VideoLAN" requires an MPEG encoded source so would be perfect for you, but a basic WinTV card doesnt provide it Or at least I'm 99% sure it doesn't.
You need a more sophistcated server than a basic web server to provide a "stream" as opposed to just downloading a file.

Would appreciate it. Its not (just) for the Footy - but a CCTV project I'm doing....
I'd prefer to have the server running Linux but that MS app looks like the sort of thing I want.

Steve - Ype thats the one H linked to above - but it requires an already mpeg encoded source. I'm trying to do a small project on the cheap at home and have gots a std WinTV card but that doesnt provide an MPEG encoded output.
I've seen ffmpeg/ffserver for linux - and have happily recorder off the video card into mpeg files - but the streaming side is brokken in the current release.
