The only decent p2p community out there is Direct Connect, but you need to find a decent hub network. Since the demise of -=E.V.I.L.=- it has gone downhill in terms on community value.
Kazza etc are not really classed as a community, its just a straight forward file sharing program. There is no real interaction with a community.
The best overall communitys are on IRC. Not only for the spirit of it, but also because it helps people learn a bit to. If you wanna take a step into programming, why not start on scripting for IRC clients. Loads of fun to be had with them.
