Default Scan Computers

Normally a great firm, good stock and solid service.

Ordered a new rig last Saturday, i7 beast of a machine, just over a grand for the basic bits, MB, Mem, CPU, cooler, really top shelf stuff.

Got a delivery (collection in this case) date of 27th.

After phoning, email and live chatting about 6 times they finally took payment on 30th and have started the testing (as it's an overclocked unit) yesterday.

Apparently they don't work on builds at the weekend.

Is it just me or do you expect a better level of service? delays are understandable, but poor customer service..

I can understand your issue as its a chunk of cash on a pc, and delays are annoying but supply issues can cause problems with delivery times.
But I would much prefer a company that takes payment once the parts arrived (which I'm guessing is the case here) and not when you place the order.

As to not doing builds on sat - nothing unusual in that.
Not keeping you informed - yeah not too great customer service skills

I dont work for Scan but know the guys that own it.

Feel free to tell them I won't be back.

They don't work Saturday but are already behind on my order. You think they'd make an effort to tell me or get it done quicker.

I stopped using Scan when they changed the website a few years back...If you aren't after a specific make/model component the layout is horrible to sift through components to find best priced/spec items, even in list view.

Ive never had a problem with Scan both online or going to their store, if you've never been to the store by the Reebok stadium its impressive.

Likewise, always had a great service from them but then only bought components never an entire PC as I build my own.

I'm building this one, but because I picked an overclocked CPU, they want to test it.

I've always had good service, till now.

I bought an overclocked bundle a couple of years ago. Think it added 5 days onto the delivery time. About 9 months into it I was getting the odd BSOD which I thought were long since forgotten about.
Had to swap out the MB after a year as the one they supplied wouldn't do SLi but forgot to take note of the overclocking settings so now just running at stock levels and been completely stable ever since.

Just been told they will ship my order today.

Excellent new, considering I selected collection.

Thats piece of mind, i'm sure you'd prefer a tested one over an untested one. Anything that involves a build or overclocking will take a little bit longer, scan are generally very good to deal with.

Did you ask them what the delay was ? Maybe they were waiting for an out of stock part to come in, 4 of those 10 days will have been taken up by 2 weekends.

At least you'll have it soon.
