Default Foam Lance?

I just ordered a new jet washer with a detergent bottle built in-a karcher 297.
Thought you would get foam from this didnt relise you had to get another fitment?

So my question is-could i get foam from the built in tank or do i need to get a different lance? And what is the best stuff to foam up a car? Where can i get it?

I would also like to polish car with a machine-whats a good machine, pads polish, cloths etc and any advice on how to get professional finsh?

Im starting out!

Cheers J

Best to get this lance HD Foam Lance - Polished Bliss Car Care and Detailing Products to be honest. As for a machine polisher its a safe bet to start with a Meguiars G220. As for polishes and pads, depends on paintwork condition.

You unfortunatley will never get good foam from the lances you get with standard jetwashes. You will get what looks like used washing up liquid!
You need a foam lance like above available from many places on the net.
Polishing wise the G220s are very good and deals can be had.
Personally I have a Porter cable as I work outside a lot and if I'm going to get an electric shock at least it will be 110v not 220!

Everything you need to know about foaming (inc. images) on this FAQ link...

...and everything you need to know about polishing your paint on these links...

(above link assumes you have a post 2001 car)

There is also a good backgound write up on polishing methods in this guide to machine polishing...

My advice would be to go for the Meguiars G220 if you think you will be using your machine a lot, or else the Kestrel DAS-6 if it will just be for occasional use - the latter is a bargain and still comes with a 1 yr warranty.
