Default "Rough" feeling

Ive recently purchased a P1, being a bufty I gave her a good going over Sat morning, meg shampoo, meg claybar, meg wax etc It shines really well and the blue is fantastic however running a hand over the car it feels rough. There is an audible sound and after a clay and a polish to that degree I`m used to a glass finish on my other scoobs.
I tested an area and tried the following:
Clay, Poorboys 2, Meg tex wax, Meg cleaner wax, Finishing wax 5.
Yet it still it has that rough feel.
Is there any difference on the P1 paint giving it the different finish to say my old mcrae? Not concerend as like i said it shines like a bell, more intruiged.

On the P1's we've tended to none have had odd paint, so I would expect this problem to be down to particularly stubborn bonded contaminants that the mild clay isn't removing (could be industrial fallout, which is sometimes a real PITA to remove). I would switch to an aggressive clay bar and re-clay the car, also using a tar and glue remover afterwards to offer some additional chemical cut. Then, I would repolish as before, as the aggressive clay may leave behind some marring (SSR2 should take this out no problem). If this doesn't work there are further options such as acid washes that break the bond between stubborn contaminants and paint without damaging the paint, but these are more serious options that should be used as a last resort.

Another possibility is that it has had some paintwork done prior to sale and it wasn't fully masked up properly resulting in the unpainted bits getting contaminated with overspray. As above an aggresive clay bar and patience usually shifts it.

Doc,

IIRC, P1's with the brake upgrade were prone to particles from the pads bonding to the paint - in some cases requiring a repaint of the affected areas.

Some worse than others.

I swear by Poly clay and you can get it from Race Glaze Ltd or Clean Your Car - car care products UK its the yellow clay and is the same as Swissvax use (but cheaper)Dont forget to keep it lubed and as Polished Bliss say may well induce marring which will need polishing out.

For safe, aggressive claying we tend to favour Meguiars Detailing Clay Aggressive - works well but leaves a lot less marring than most aggressive clays.
