Default Cobra or milltek?

Right bit of a dilemma really, recently bought a v8 sti after being away from the scene for about four years, car is currently in there arches garage in Cardiff having a service and other work carried out to it, the exhaust I have on it at the moment is a real ear bleeder, I probably would of liked this a few years back,
It's a 3" straight through, unsure of make, thought the back box was an afterburner vortex but after getting the garage to do an inspection they said the back box and centre are one piece so unsure until I get it back.
Anyway I'm planning on leaving the downpipe and buying a new system from this,
I quite like the sound of the cobra track friendly system with the 3.5" tailpipe, I also quite like the sound of the milltek sport catback system too, so I suppose my question is if anyone currently runs these systems and can they vouch for them? would you recommend one over the other? Where are the best places to buy from, I'm also finding it hard to find the milltek In 3" size, they sell 2.75 so I take it this mates to a 2.5 downpipe, bit unsure,
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
Cheers

I would also look at H&S (Hayward and Scott), more top end along with the Milltek but very good quality

Do they do resonated centre secs, would still be worried about the noise level?

They sometimes do discounts on here also

Just been on the h&s site, they only have one 3" centre advertised which looks unresonated, would you have to enquire about getting it resonated?

HS will custom make anything for you, and it most cases wont need your car at the workshop to do it.I thoroughly recommend them, each of my VWs and Scoobys over the years have had HS systems...last time I was in, a Ferrari was getting new pipes

Shame there not running that group buy on here anymore, prices are far cheaper than on there website, that's no votes for the cobra and milltek systems then?

Just because it already has a 3" decat downpipe and rather than change the whole system will just try a new centre and b/box,
Not really after huge power so probably doesn't warrant a 3",
The car currently has an uprated fuel pump which I made a bit of a hash of that's why it's in the garage at the mo, the black clip on the pressure line was rusted on to the nozzle, that's another story!!!
k&n panel filter,
Large TMIC, unsure of make at the moment but garage says it's a good one,
Standard turbo though, will be booking it in for a remap once the exhaust is done so unsure what kind of power I would likely achieve, what do you think?

I have a v8 JDM, tried both the 3" and 2.5" exhausts, my personal findings was that the 3" gave me more top end power, while the 2.5 gave less leg and more power lower down..others might disagree though. You'd probably be looking at 310-340 I would imagine, never owned a UK spec Subaru though, so hopefully someone more knowledagble will pipe in!

Cheers for that, was in the process of going back to a 2.5" system then changed my mind last minute, will probably stick to just changing the centre and rear, would rather less lag and more power low down so more food for thought, trying to keep costs relatively sensible as it's looking like it might spiral out of control already, new wheels already etc.

Sorry to drag this thread back from the death, but how did you find Three Arches in Cardiff, do they do much Subaru work?

I've been looking for a local specialist, without luck, but did see their name on a Google search.

That's excellent news, thanks. Could I ask what they charged for a clutch?

I think a few of the Welsh members use the Three Arches. Heard only good things about them.
