hi all i have removed my inlet to have it painted and now i have refited it my car wont start.
first turn of the key and it fired up then cut out and now it almost gets there but just not enough. ive checked the earths and wiring but can not seen to find any thing can anyone help?

 

im assuming the injectors come on and you have fuel pressure? Also have you connected the HT leads correctly?

 

ht leads are fine not so sure about the injectors though, do they have to be the right way round or does it not matter like a few cars i have worked on.

 

May sound silly but did you use new inlet manifold gaskets mate?

 

yes mate all new gaskets

 

have you made sure all the plugs/connectors under the manifold are plugged in? there is a big connection block towards the rear of the manifold that powers the crank sensor,make sure it is securely plugged in

 

i have fuel and spark so should rule out crank shouldnt it

 

had it all in bits again and everything has gone back correct and still nothing

 

got a good spark and there is loads of fuel on the spark plugs, its sound like the timing os wrong but ive checked the timing marks and all is fine there.
any sugestions

 

Checked for codes?
Tried cleaning the (possibly fouled) spark plugs?

 

don't no how to check the codes, spark plugs have all been cleaned and checked.

 

fuel pipes right way round for feed and return?

did you clean the paint off manifold where the earth's bolt to?

 

Hey let us know if you get it sorted bud. I've just had my manifold off to repaint it & install new injectors. I'm still fitting a FMIC & some other bits so I haven't fired it up yet, I hope I don't get something similar as yourself or I'm gonna be pissed.

 

i have cleaned all the earths and any bolts so that everything is metal on metal.

 

Try swapping the injector plugs around. front to back and make sure you have the same colours front to back. Cant remember which way round they go of hand. but its something like both black connectors at front and brown at back. But swap them around anyway> it could be firing the injectors at the wront point and soaking the plugs

 

yeah thought that and ive tryed every possable way they could go.
my injector plugs seem to be grey and black is this right?

 

had the car in the garage and done a comprestion test and all cylinders are down,
been told that it could have dry bores and to pour oil in the inlets.
