Scoobynet Karting this weekend @ Daytona
Keep going on the A421 (known locally as 'H8') until you get to the V6 (Grafton Street), where you turn right.
(For those that don't know Milton Keynes, the V6 comes after the V7, which comes after the V8 etc., etc.).
Go up the V6 until you get to the H4 (Dansteed Way), where you turn left.
(For those that don't know Milton Keynes, the H4 comes after the H5, which comes after the H6 etc., etc.).
Daytona is first on the left.
It's impossible to get lost in Milton Keynes, so long as you know the "co-ordinates" of where you are going. Daytona is on the H4 between the V6 and the V5 (A5).
It should take you around 1 1/2 hours from Cambridge.

Not the way my housemate drives it wont
Comes up as 48 miles on the AA website so hoping to do it in a shade over 60mins.
I take it all the V and H stuff is local MK roads as it means **** all to me?

Even your housemate will have to contend with the Sunday morning drivers, and the single carriageway roads between Cambridge/Bedford, and then Bedford/Milton Keynes. I would still say 80 minutes, minimum.
Should be OK once you get into the outskirts of MK though...
The road system in MK has been designed such that there is no single "best route" across the city. There is a grid pattern of main roads (all national speed limit), which run roughly north-south (or Vertically, hence V), or east-west (or Horizontally, hence H). They still have names (like in normal cities
), but once you know the system, the names don't matter so much. It's easier to know that to get to the H4, you go past the H7, H6 and H5 (if you're heading north).
Sounds complicated, but it's not.

Sorry, ChrisB, maybe that should have read "Sounds complicated, but so long as you can count in single figures (forwards and backwards), and understand the concept of Horizontal and Veritical, and of these two directions being at right angles to each other, it isn't.
My appologies for making assumptions about the level of intelligence on this board. I guess I aimed too high...

From Cambridge it will take you around 50-55 minutes - I've regularly done that route (but then on to Buckingham) as I used to live in Cambridge and regularly go back there. I can do Cambridge to Buckingham (through MK) in 1hr 3mins
and it takes just under 15mins to get from MK to Buckingham. However, there's the "get lost in MK" factor which I always manage, so I'd add another 15 minutes if you're like me
See you on Sunday!

Sounds complicated, and it is. I've lived here for 16+ years, and I still can't get those H and V roads right.
If in doubt head towards Central Milton Keynes, then to the railway station, and look for the red and white striped circus tent looking thing, that's it.
