I'd reckon around £18K
Bit of a slow market just now though. DrEvil seems to be finding this out the hard way. He's practically giving his MY01 away at 17,495

Trade will bid @ £14k unless they're flogging something with a decent margin, expect to get £16k privately.

Cool

That's no worse than lots of other new cars. If you wanted better residuals you should have bought a BM or Audi.

Yep I also reckon prices on here are pessimistic.

I got 16.5k trade in for my old turbo when the "going rate" reckoned by members on this BBS was 14k. And no that was separate from the sizeable discount I got on the car I traded it for.

Dealers will not offer any extra for the wheels, lights and PPP so expect less than £17k trade-in.

Privately you may get £18k. The addons are all desireable but few people are willing to pay nearly new prices for a used car. The low milrage will help.

If nobody is interested at these prices keep it for another year or two and lessen the depreciation blow. Otherwise I'll give it a good home but my offer will be below £17k.

Good luck.

Apologies, half asleep, I read it as 27k not 7k, so I'd say trade @ £15-16k, private @ £17k

Yep, I would agree the biggest real issue with WRX residuals is IM's UK pricing compared with EU pricing. For £5k+ off people will happliy import, and when they are in stock @ £4k off from supermarkets, dealer prices seem crazy.

Eg import a WRX for £16.5k new, sell it after 12 months for £14k
vs Buy a UK car for £21.5k sell it for £15.5k after 12 months, I know there are lots of other factors to consider (cost to change, discount, finance etc), but UK car are relatively expensive IMHO (not that I've had either an eu or a uk impreza )

Atleast you'll save as much on the Evo as you'll lose on the Scoob. Let me know if you can't find a good home her.

Ive been bid 11.5k from my local dealer to buy my 98 Turbo (straight purchase, no px) so I would have thought that an MY01 would be atleast 17-18k???

If your car is on average mileage for Sep '01 registration, a garage would give you circa 18K pounds for it mate.

My garage reckon they will get circa 18K for mine with just the subaru bits on (ie. less the strut brace, sti quick shift, defis, exhaust, carbon kit and grill, and even the wheels!).

Rgds, Alex

PS. thats assuming its a UK WRX, not a Euro.
