Subaru UK. New oil filters ? ? ?
afternoon guys. ive just received a nice new geuine oil filter from my favourite parts supplier, 
, cheers tim. lol., and its differant from the ones of previous.
apart from being differant in colour, (now blue, not black), its smaller. luckily i have a previous style one in my garage. next to each other they are quite differant. and it appears that the gasket on the new one is smaller.
tim has assured me that all will be fine, and i DO, trust him but i want to see if anyone has had issues with these new ones.

they had a small tiny diddy one (black), before they changed to these even smaller 
blue ones.
just phoned subaru uk, and ive been told, (and this will be the breif explanation),..subaru uk couldnt get the normal ones so they ordered 3 million!!! from canada. hense why the new oil filter says made in canada on it. lol.

They are made by honeywell in the usa, where as the black filters were made in japan as usual due to the price of the yen its cheaper to buy the crappy blue filters from the usa. Personally i hate the flaming things, prefilling them takes and eternity lol the black ones used to soak it up quite quick.

Think I'll stick to UFI filters from Opie!

do you really think subaru uk would sell filters that would cause damage to the engine? imagine the claims going in for new engines due to filters that restrict the flow of oil.
come on get over yourselves the filters are fine.
