Quick answer: Shell.

Long answer, try the search, it's been done to death:

Octane booster wont "fry" your engine. It generally increases the RON and makes the fuel more "potent".

Quick and conclusive answer. Using Utlimate I get increased knock readings on my power FC on V-Power I get none.

Can some bright spark set up a poll to see who uses what? I use Tesco 99 & would be interested to see how many others do too ...

(Even though this topic has been done to death... !)

Think a poll would only be any good if you included which model of Impreza you drive - I would expect a Spec-C, RA, import STI, UK WRX, UK STI PPP, etc etc etc to have possibly different preferences.

All I can go buy is that my local RR'd/Tuners say that they have significantly more headroom with ignition timing using V-Power than any of the other fuels - and my car is going on the rollers again tomorrow, and other than a Green filter panel, the only other difference is going to be fuel.

V power made my Sti PPP go noticeably quicker. I had to use Ultimate during the Optimax shortage and it seemed lethargic and hesitant.

I find stuff like this, V Power, groovy, ESSO not too bad, Waitrose Super OK, Sainsburys Super OK, Tesco Super OK,BP Dultimate (put in Millars Octane Boooster) OK, ( if not it, hesitates a bit)

Hope this helps.
