GC8 refers to the classic shape impreza, GDA/GDB are the new age cars. You are correct your car is a GC8.

Unless he's got a wagon, in which case it's a GF8.

So up to now with all this jargon, I've established that I have a my98 with GC8 engine? My next question is, which manifold would you recomend I go for as I have a hole in the pipe that runs along the bottom near the front by the radiator??????

If you are going aftermarket then i would recommend a gruppe s v2 manifold or you could get a standard ported manifold from harvey. If you car has minor mods then the second option is the one i would go for.

Some 'S' regs. are MY '99s - mine, for instance. I'm not sure which month the Model Year runs from.

'GC8' is a Japanese chassis prefix and it relates to all 2 litre two door or four door saloons; both turbo-charged and normally-aspirated.

I was expecting this thread to be about me.....
