Cool

was gonna say shame on you for letting your engine bay get that bad (rusty) but then seen your location so i guess you're not to blame....

Keep going mate, dont give up. I've seen worse engine bays than that become immaculate with some TLC.

Not sure what to suggest for rust

Get over to the car care forum and ask the experts

Dont get disheartened either

well basicly finised now, been for a drive to "set" it, but still not sure, will need to wipe down some of the droplets.

not too bad, just need to get thet rust sorted out n giv it a spray of paint. Will normal paint do for most of those rusted areas? or should i get high temp stuff?

hope u all enjoyed following the last hr of my life :P

You can buy a tin of stuff that you paint on to the rust and it turns it black and stops it rusting anymore. I used it a couple of years ago and it was pretty good.
Try halfords - I'll check later to see what its called.

You need POR-15 from Frosts. Its very good stuff. But buy some cheap brushes from B&Q as the need to be thrown in the bin after use. Also dont get any on your skin or car... it wont come off.

well the car lived in scarbourgh, n now dundee, so ye both are quite costal.

I went to halfrauds n found a rust kit, got a wee wire brush, a rust eater gel, n a brush w a can of grey primer. hopefully this will do the trick for now. With the days getting longer mite be able to get a bit done after work 2moz.
