And her insurance probably won't pay out as it was stolen with the keys and she wasn't threatened for them.

That sucks. Not a good way to start Xmas at all! It's so easy to be absent minded, or not sufficiently cautious, this time of year with all the rushing around and that. However, this is exactly the season to be particularly vigilant against the theiveing scumbags!

I hope the insurance pays out!

Best.

only downside to sleeping with them is that Mr Scumbag will happily put a gun to your head to aqquire them after he has broken into your house.

i'd rather lose the car.

I sleep with the keys by the bed.. If the thieves want the car that badly I'll give them over...but if they are spineless w4nkers and are looking for an easy steal....they will be dissapointed.

That's why they will never find my keys by the back door within easy reach.

Yup, same here. I leave the keys downstairs but well out of sight and reach. If they do happen to break in and take the keys, they'll only get so far down the road before the Clifford Blackjax kicks in. I'd have heard it start so I'll just tell the rozzers to listen for it. If they roll it away from the house, the tracker will activate. Either way, the thieving scumbags will be in for a surprise.

Keep your local scumbags happy - leave a set of keys with an alarm fob within easy reach of your letterbox..... keys don't have to fit your car though :-)

Still got a set of keys from an Audi I had about 1995.

The button on the fob could be used to detonate a small explosive charge

If only

As i have to park on the road, I leave my car parked outside next door!!! I'd like to see any scum bags face if they broke into next doors, they have a very big dog and a few guns to boot!!!!

If your going away for a while and have to leave the car and keys behind, you can always use the "Super Lock" feature on the standard UK fit alarm. Even if they turn the house upside down and find the car keys and remote, the fob will not disarm the alarm or immobiliser this can only then be done with the PIN code and the Keypad. I wouldn't recommend t overnight (as the alarm will trigger when you open the door until you enter the PIN) but it is useful if your going away on holiday.
Just ensure that you know the correct PIN before trying this!!

Your right but it might help stop the casual thief, most want an easy target.
