I used to post mine manually when I fist came onto this board, but I was the only one, and gave up after a while.

I think it's a laugh.

 

I think it's an excellent marketing opportunity, useable every time you post.

I think that the reason people rarely use pics is that if a lot of people use them and some user's piccies are not very well compressed, they will really slow down standard modem users. XRS' piccy does look great though.

Not too much of a problem. Providing people ask, I don't usually mind what people do with their pix, providing that they do not use them for advertising or commercial purposes. All I normally ask is that they give me a by-line wherever possible.

Having said that, I have to admit getting peed off when people use my pix without paying for them, which is why the proofs have got smaller over the last year. However there has to be a point at which the proofs are too small to be of any use. At which point I will either overlay a 'proof' mask, or stop sending out proofs by email, which would be a shame.

Sorry if I sound a bit narked, but I've been told that someone is already using my pix commercially with neither permission nor payment, and quite frankly it's not on.

I suppose if regular members used them and kept them the same for some time, then the web file cache on the pc's could recognize them and not download them, just pull them from the cache?
