Hello everyone, i am new here and im looking for some help regarding a parasitic draw issue ive been having and cant figure out. I have narrowed it down to the 20A clock room fuse in the engine bay, and upon further investigation and disconnecting everything that i have found on that circuit, the draw was still there.. So i decided to dig under the dash and look for something that is warm therefore drawing constant power, i found a denso 5260 relay with a blue connector that is sitting ontop of the fuse box bracket( clipped in from the underside pretty much hidden away) and what do you know, it is really warm, after disconnecting it the draw fell down to an acceptable level. But i cant find anything about that relay online, and what it is there for, also tried replacing it with a new relay and it doesnt fix the issue either, looking for some input on what that thing is there for so i can run that circuit down for any possible faults..

 

I'm assuming "2005 WRX" is a UK/European market blobeye and LHD given your location is Germany.??

As far as I can tell, the only relay located in the area of the inside cabin Fuse box/ relay block with a blue 4 pin connector is the Rear Fog Light relay

Leave it disconnected and see what doesn't work?

 

With the relay disconnected i cant start the engine, it doesnt even crank anymore

 

in that case it will be the security relay not fitted to LHD models

 

Okay thanks, i will look up if i find any common issues regarding that relay, but looking at the diagram, would it be possible that a faulty security control module would cause the prolem? Its a manual transmission car so the inhibitor switch isnt there

 

The security control module in a UK car will be it's Sigma alarm unit.

 

I had this when I first bought my blobeye and checked everything. Eventually bought a new Bosch battery from Eurocarparts and have had no bother since and my original battery tested fine .

 

The battery has recently been replaced and is brand new but a current draw of 0.2Amps with everything off is too high no matter the battery condition

 

Any idea what the fault within the system might be? A burnt relay on the sigma alarm pcb itself?

 

Have you tried disconnecting the starter motor ? (just to eliminate it..)
