Today I took the car up to Ryan to sort out a job which has been bugging the living daylights out of me since I've had the car, namely the gear change fault and the way that the gear stick falls to the left side of the gate. A couple of time I have gone to change up from 4th to 5th and nearly selected 3rd, quite dangerous and it means you have to be careful on each gear change.

That was until today when it became evident that the front selector linkage fork (26) has had the spring (20) connected to it, the spring should be connected to the opposite linkage plate (30).

Unfortunately this will mean dropping the gearbox out of the way as the linkage is above it and the access is not great.

Whilst the linkage is stripped down I will get some of the uprated linkage bushes from AS Performance fitted as everything will be easily accessible.

Oh well at least we know what the problem is now.
I couldn't get the uprated bushes in time so it was just a case of putting back what is already there in the correct place, it was done in situ in the end with no need to drop the gearbox down for access. To say I am pleased would be an understatement as it's nice to go to select a gear and get the one you want.

The Blitz Nur Spec R was also fitted, the system is a cat back system and fits really well you can see the quality of the construction and why they always sell for a premium. Having had a Cobra Sport silencer before fitted on my Blobeye Spec C with a straight through centre section and sports cat I didn't find the Blitz unduly noisy, try having bare metal onto thin carpet and you will know all about resonation and how it can give you a headache in next to no time.

Plus the Syron Race 1 Plus tyres were fitted today as well, I took the opportunity to give the wheels a good clean as well. I am impressed by the tyres they grip very well and have lower road noise than the tyres they replaced. I would recommend them to anyone thinking of trying them out, they are a German brand and even though relatively unknown in the UK they perform very well.

Yes it bugged the hell out of me, it really took a lot of the enjoyment out of the car as you couldn't quick shift without the risk of messing up the change.

It's a totally different car now, it gives a far more enjoyable driving experience now.

Thanks Jay, you know better than anyone what happens when a problem takes the enjoyment out of your car, at least we're both sorted now.
