Notts will only move a vehicle blocking your exit in case of an emergency. Other than that, you have to wait for the council. If it's blocking your entrance, they're not interested.

I'd just deal with it yourself. The Police/Council do probably in all honesty have better things to do. If your not in your subaru just sandwich them in with two cars, or 4 flat tyres, attach a tow rope to the car and put a note on the windscreen saying next time it will be down the road. I used to have this problem but luckily also had a very old knackered landrover with which I have dragged a car away with to get on my drive, and parked the towbar within about 1mm of their car when trying to get out so that when they pulled off they would do their paintwork in.

We recently moved and now live very close to a post box. Most days I see a few cars pull up on the kerb, occupant gets out and posts mail etc. However, some park across the driveway. No problems with that as its only for 20secs or so. Recently I returned from work and as I approached my house there was a car blocking the driveway. Fortunately the occupant was just going as I was about to turn in.
This is a main road with lots of traffic at peak hours sometimes queuing as there is a busy junction at the end, so worst case is I would have to drive further down, turn around and get stuck in traffic for a few mins whilst waiting to drive back towards my house.
There's just a small time window most days when traffic queues past my house and I guess at some point I will get home at the wrong time....

A separate issue, but similar, during Xmas i noticed a car pulled onto my drive, the occupant got out with a present and walked off down the road!
I went out and called to the person and she apologised saying the road was busy with traffic amd there was nowhere to park! Ffs there are plenty of offroad places to park in front of the other houses. I did say that this is my drive and not a public carpark. The cheek of it!
The lady was so apologetic and appeared stressed so I didnt get angry. Still taking the pi55 though.

Nick

Happens now and then to me, we have limited parking and when someone parks across the drive I have to park down the road.

Three approaches I've found that work, wait for them to come back, the shaven head and clear frustration is normally enough, however if I know it's a woman, I tend to leave a note, not in the business of intimidating ladies (even stupid ones) and my personal favorite, use my other car to block them in, which oddly causes them to get really annoyed ...
