Done a bit of work on the swirl pot set up today.. wanted to originally cut out the old battery tray. But worked out to be a pain by the time I had got it painted aswell. So found some plate left in my garage and got cracking...

Just the bloody loom I wish I could get rid of but kind of need that...

Still have use of back seats and no fire wall in.. also didn't really want to have new fuel lines through the car also.

Could have just used the original fuel line that run through the car already. I just cut the flared ends off and put a compression fitting at both ends that went 8mm to -6

Yes could have done that. Its what I have done for the front. Just wanted it there to make life easier and I don't have a fire wall

The new 356 D2 6pots turned up today..

Like a kit at Xmas. Couldn't wait to open them and didn't want to wait until weekend so fitted them

Bought a universal one then modded it to fit. Got nuts and bolts to HT splitter where I could and then small thick screws where I couldn't get bolts seems to have held fine

So it's running!!

Had a full day on it today after having to make a new downpipe slightly and make all the new IC pipework. Picked up from welders this morning and got to work.
Finished off all the fuel system wiring aswell. Then fitted the new downpipe. Which I'm happy with for first time making one. Also wrapped the IC pipework and did a full check over and boom it started.. no fuel leaks which was a bonus. Fuel running at 4bar. Just a little oil leak which I sorted straight away..

Only thing is that it's idling high.. may just need to get up to temp then be ok but ran out of jubilee clips so that will be done first thing in the morning. Really happy with how the engine bay looks now.

It's been a long day!!!

So started the car today and it was idling and 2600rpm..
So checked for air leaks to start then thought it was idle control valve.. I had a spare in the garage and put that on. Still the same.. so thought it could maybe be a fault in the loom somewhere so had the dash out looking to see if anything there had sorted etc.. still nothing so I took the chance and got a third ICV and guess what the first 2 were bloody faulty! So moved on from that and got the font end on, finished the last bit of intercooler pipework, put a fresh batch of Royal purples oil £120 + filter lol.. put all the dash back in and basically got it so was ready to drive.. warmed it up on the spot and Bleed the system out for coolest.. quick drive round the block and all on... winner ready fir tomorrow.

So went to local she'll to fill it up.. all driving below 2000rpm.. filled up and called at a mates house on the way home to pull up and find a oil leak.. FFS!! SO with it being after 8pm at this point with no tools or Jack and pitch black and raining the car is currently parked outside my mates house waiting for me to look at it tomorrow.. so mapping is off and I'm very tired and a little moody haha.. but at least it happens local and not on the way up there and the engine is OK...

Will get there one day..

I always find **** like that happens when you are rushing to get it ready for something.

That's a real bummer mate. Hopefully it's nothing too serious....

I know mate called it a night after a long day on the car my head was fried so I had enough... woke up with a fresh and calm head this morning going over soon to have a look. Its more than likely going to be something daft and stupid

Turns out it's a split brand new oil cooler pipe! Always something daft.. well 90%sure it's the pipe anyway. Had to get the car on a trailer which was another £80.. I'm to busy sbf go away over next 3 weeks so dropped it off at a mates garage for him to sort it when he has chance.

Not a massive amount to update. Car is up at a mates garage getting sorted due to me having a opeteration and being out of anything for 3weeks. He's replacing the oil lines for a full Braided system as well as a full nut and bolt check of the car while it's up there. Then running it for a couple of days for me. See where money is at then and when I can finially get it mapped

Not much to update on the car. I'm still recovering from a Op so no spanners yet. Car is still up at my mates garage hoping next week we can get it all ready and full nut and bolt checked for mapping.

In the meantime I have started a new job so went out looking for a new motor.. really wanted the new 2016 ford ranger wild track 3.2 for towing scooby etc. So off I went to food offered me a great deal over the phone. Then got in looking at the deals and wasn't as good as they made out.. bit gutted tbh.. so I went round looking at 335D saloon etc etc... then got a call off my mate who had his 2011 cupra R up for sale.

He's had it since near new. So know the car myself which is always good. Full history and he's spent a small fortune on it over the last 18months..

It's running 370/425 which I know is a lot for a FWD car. But in the dry it handles it quite well. Such a great car to drive and only 26k on the clock.

That's very nice indeed mate. That's gotta be a whole bag of fun to drive with that power and torque. Blimey!
