The guy I was emailing from the company could not have been more helpful, I've sent no less than 15 emails to him over the last two days with umpteen questions and each one has been responded to within a couple of hours and with excellent technical knowledge and advice.
Looking forward to getting it now

So my TD05 18G arrived a few days ago.
Looks like excellent quality and came with a very good fitting kit with everything you could need. Icant wait to get it fitted.
Been reading lots and lots of great reviews of them from over in the US and AUS, not heard one bad report then then they are made by a very reputable company after all (Kamak).
I'm going to ask a local turbo specialist to give it the once over before fitting to gauge their opinion of it, I'll report back on that too.

Very interesting thread. The kinugawa turbos were previously regarded as being very poor. Evidence shows they have listen to their critics or changed the components or manufacturing. Some good posts

It took like 8 days including a 3 day hold up at customs, trackable all the way.
Just make sure ask them not to stick the invoice on the outside of the bloody box!
They marked my package on the customs form as I requested "replacement goods - $100 value" to minimise import duty/tax which was fine but they also stuck the bloody invoice on the outside of the box on one of those clear slips, of course customs opened it and seen the £468 value so I got hit with £140 import duty, vat and handling fee.
Customs are not stupid, the box says turbocharger on it and weighs a tonne, sending it as "gift" is asking for trouble, you may get lucky as they cant check everything but better pay a little import duty/VAT than try it on for none and get stung for the lot anyway.

20G on the 2.0 is going to be pretty laggy is it not?

Yeah, might have a bit of lag but the kick in the back should make up for it!
Cheers for the in depth reply mate.

Ever wonder why Kamak and Kinugawa both sell Genuine Mitsubishi, Garrett, IHI, Toyota, KKK brand name turbos? well do some research, all the parts for those turbos come from 1 place in Taiwan, and guess who makes those!? The quality of these is top notch, you ARE in FACT getting a turbo or parts from the same facility as the big names!

Hi there
Personally I rather buy from well known sources over here or USA,if you are believe them, then believe them, but until I will see RR graph I'm just little bit sceptical
I've seen few eBay specials 20G making nice power(in most cases more than I've expected),but seen making very low power compared to genuine counterpart

In Russia Kinugawa turbos are becoming to be very popular, I think the price is the answer why. Their products lineup is very wide, they now offer the billet compressor wheels, they have the twinscroll housings, and have all the sizes for most asked power ranges. The downside is that they are a bit laggy, if compare to respected turbo manufacturer products. This lag is because of the mitsu TD journal bearing they use, not because of a poor manufacturing/technology level as some people may suppose. Overall, I think Kinugawa is a great option for a budget builds.

Hey guys! In the middle of buying a house so my priorities have been elsewhere unfortunately! The car and turbo are still going strong! Gave it an oil change the other day and everything seems tidy on it! Still pulls strong up to the red on private roads of course!

I tried a Chinese (Mainland) Super cheap 20G on my 2L for around 6 months! It performed well, not problems at all! I bought it as a "size test" for my Rebuilt 2L. I recently replaced it with a Kamak (Taiwan) Billet 20G.
The Kamak turbo is without doubt better! Much faster spool and seems to produce a heap laid more power with lower boost!
I was lucky with the el cheapo turbo. Still looked fine when removed it! But the Kamak is in another league. A really nice turbo! I would highly recommend.
Im running the Kamak Billet 7cm housing 20G on a 2L and its perfect for my daily street car!
1.4 Bar at 4000rpm with tomei headers.
