I wouldn't claim to know any more than the rest of us but the guy was done for murder so I merely wondered why you think that 6 years is appropriate.


I didn't know the appeal route was still open - I thought this was the final conclusion.

For the reasons the judge outlined - I sat through all of it

 

6 years is not appropriate for taking another's life whatever his circumstances.

 

apparently not appealing , and could serve way less - so that doesn't seem right

but its not all about retribution of course

 

Well I heard Judge talk about First Offence and what purpose would a long sentence serve. Sort of stuff you might hear for shoplifting but this was murder ffs. First Offence!! dl

 

didnt he originally get 5 years and serve 9 months, so how much longer will he serve for this extra year.

Yes, it does seem light. I think his remorse, disability and that walking-on-stunts evidence play a big part in it being light. I felt really bad to see him give that evidence. I have to say I felt worse when I saw Reeva's badly wounded lifeless pics. Oscar at least has his life; quality of that is in question until he's in jail. His parents haven't lost their child of someone else's rage or paranoia.
