Well since my last post things have changed over and over and over. I have gone from being upbeat one minute to downbeat the next. Having decided to go with the white one that dealer said he could no longer get the car. Having then told the other dealer I didn't want the black one they then offered me the white one cheaper than the original dealer of the white one. No decision needed snapped their hand off agreed the deal and paid a deposit. Was then told 20 hours later their other branch had sold the car and although my deal had been agreed first it was the other branches car so had first dibs. They then offered me the black one as an alternative but hey for mucking you around we will throw in a full tank of petrol! Sod off I said. Then they told me about a grey one they had coming over but completely standard, I asked how much and they offered it a lot cheaper than the white one and agreed to put it on a '13' plate. I have since found I can get the options I want retrofitted afterwards slightly more expensive but as I have saved 10% on the original price I am more than happy but still not confident this deal will happen until I have driven the car away in March. I am surprised I haven't keeled over this week with the ups and downs. Really looking forward to the car as it puts me back where I was 12 months ago with my 340r Scoob but without the huge tax bill and super poor economy even the insurance is half the price not sure the Impreza in it's performance ilk can survive when Audi can match with cheaper to live with cars. Roll on March and keep your fingers crossed for this roller coaster ride.

I think with a new purchase like this, the difference in value between plates will be nothing compared to the thousands you will lose in depreciation!

Thanks for reminding me but whisper next time so the Mrs doesn't hear you.

I think I am happy in that the price I have paid for a new unregistered one is less than dealers are currently asking for used ones up to a year old. In fact it is less than a private one I was chasing but sold for a higher price than what I am paying although it did have more toys on it.
